colin’s Adoption Story
Colin, a four-year-old pug previously abandoned and rejected by his original owner despite facing euthanasia, found his forever home on December 30, 2024. Rescued in Korea, Colin flew to Newark and was met by Lisa and Jeff Barron, who brought him to Chicago. His new family describes him as incredibly sweet, loving, and well-behaved, quickly adapting to his new life filled with walks, cuddles, and playful antics like building "forts" under the comforter and giving unexpected "kissing bandit" licks. The Barrons, who previously adopted two pugs from an Asian dog rescue, were thrilled to find Pug Rescue of Korea and welcome Colin, their third rescue pug, into their loving home.
Jeannie’s Adoption Story
Jeannie, formerly April, a pug rescued from Korea in March 2024, has found her forever home in Canada after a journey of healing and travel. After being fostered in Korea and receiving treatment for dislocated kneecaps, Jeannie made her way to the US, where she was fostered by @pugsandryan. She was adopted by Samantha, who had recently lost her 14-year-old pug, Nola. Jeannie quickly charmed her new family, including relatives, and even the flight crew on her trip to Vancouver Island. Despite a discovery of a mast cell tumor and rotten teeth requiring surgery, Jeannie has recovered wonderfully and is now a loving, playful, and snuggly member of her new family, enjoying hikes and full-body hugs.
Stitch’s Adoption Story
Stitch, a pug who suffered from severe neglect, including a skin disease, parasitic infections, and luxating patellas, has finally found his forever home with the Correia family after a long journey to recovery. Rescued in September 2023 and fostered for 19 months in Korea, Stitch traveled to Minneapolis with a transport family before being met by Pug Rescue of New England, who facilitated his adoption. Now, he's thriving, sleeping soundly, enjoying treats, and happily settling in with his new pug siblings, Yasha and Stella, completing a loving "grumble" of three.
Gertie’s Adoption Story
And the BEST DRESSED PUG AWARD goes to…MISS GERTIE! What a transformation for this pug! You would never know this looking at her now, but Gertie went from an outdoor metal cage at a puppy mill to blue velvet armchairs and strings of pearls. Sounds like a happy tail to me!
