HOW TO ADOPT
HOW TO ADOPT A PUG FROM SOUTH KOREA
100% of your adoption fee goes towards the rescue and rehabilitation of our pugs
ADOPTION PROCCESS
STEP 1: SUBMIT APPLICATION
Please complete our application. As a show of good faith, we require a $10 donation for our volunteers to review your application.
STEP 2: APPLICATION REVIEW
We review all applications with the goal of finding the best home for our rescue pug. We consider many factors when determining this.
STEP 3: MEET & GREET
If the pug is fostered near you, we can plan a Meet & Greet at a local park or other location. If not, we can arrange a video call.
STEP 4: HOME CHECK
The home check ensures the pug will live and thrive in a safe environment. This will be conducted in-person, via live video call, or a narrated video.
STEP 5: FINAL ADOPTION
Once we approve your application:
- You pay a 50% deposit to hold the pug
- You initial and sign the adoption agreement
- You make the final payment before you pick up your pug either at the cargo office when the pug arrives in the US or from their foster family (in US or Korea)

We try our best to update this page, but sometimes our rescue rate happens faster than we can keep up with! If you don’t see a pug, please contact us or complete the application with your pug preferences.
We prefer to match our pugs with their forever homes before they arrive in the US. This helps us as we have limited fostering resources. Sometimes, we foster a dog in the US before they find their forever home.
WHAT THE ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
Examination(s) by a veterinarian in Korea
Spayed or neutered dog from South Korea
Vaccinations: DHPPL, rabies, bordetella & canine coronavirus
Vaccination certificate (signed by Korean vet) showing proof of vaccinations for rabies and DHPPL
Microchip (please register chip in your name)
Leash and harness
Any necessary medication

OUT-OF-STATE ADOPTIONS:
We adopt out-of-state, but we require adopters to travel to the city where the pug is fostered or their flight arrival city. We conduct home checks through video calls or narrated videos.
You must pick up your dog within 2 weeks of starting the adoption process. If you cannot pick the dog up within this timeframe, we require adopters to cover any vet costs that arise after these 2 weeks.

** The adoption fee for pugs flown from Korea to NYC range from $300 to $2000, varying based on the pug's age and size. Please contact us for specific pricing details.
** For adoptions within Korea, pug adoption fees range from $150 to $700, depending on the pug's age. Please contact us for the specific pricing.
Current airline cargo rates for dogs start at $900 per dog, so your contribution helps cover this cost. Donations and fundraising subsidize the remaining shipping costs.
Even if the dog is already in the US, you must still pay the shipping fee. Please see FAQ here.
Due to the time, effort, and money invested into finding forever homes for our pugs, we do not give refunds.
Once we process the adoption, all adoption fees are non-refundable. Please make sure you are committed to adoption!
All fees are subject to change.
Please remember that you’re applying for a dog that has been rescued, relinquished, or found as a stray in South Korea. We make every effort to treat any medical issues discovered by a vet or foster, but we cannot prevent or predict future illnesses, and we cannot guarantee life expectancy. All pugs are adopted as-is.
