Jeannie’s Adoption Story

Jeannie, loved by his mom

🍁ADOPTED🍁 Nov 23, 2024 – Canada welcomed a new canine Canuck when Jeannie (fka April) was adopted!

Rescued Mar 28, 2024 in Korea, Jeannie was listed on a rehoming site by her owner. In our rescuer’s words: “First time I went Busan but after 2 hour waiting I left. They stood me up. Soon she was listed again, so @jjack.ddeck.m picked her up. Her owner was young lady living in the small studio. She could not live with her anymore, her boyfriend said at the first time I reached out.”

Fostered by Seojung Lee in Korea, we repaired her dislocated kneecaps, and then she was ready for her big trip to the US on Oct 17! Ryan fostered her until she found her new family!

From mom Samantha:

“Jeannie is just the absolute sweetest—we couldn’t have asked for a better addition to our little family! We call her our little angel bc she came to us right after our precious 14yo pug, Nola, passed away in Oct 2024.

“We were unsure about bringing another pug into our lives so soon after losing Nola, but our friend Margaret @miss.picklesthepug (adopted Gertie) sent us Jeannie’s picture and bio, saying she would be perfect for us. And wow, was she ever right!

“When we picked her up from her amazing foster family in Las Vegas, she melted into my arms & promptly fell asleep for the whole long car ride to Palm Springs (where we have a rental). Once there, she fit right in, charming her Nona, grandpa, and aunt and uncle with ease.

“On the flight home to Vancouver Island, Canada, Jeannie was a rockstar—she had the flight crew oohing & aahing - they couldn't believe we only had her a week.

“Back home, she settled in like a pro. Our first vet visit wasn’t all rainbows, though—the vet found a mast cell tumor and several rotten teeth. But in true Jeannie fashion, she took it all like a champ and came out of surgery 2 weeks later happy, healthy, and ready to take on the world!

“Jeannie loves giving full-body hugs (yes, actual hugs!), playing with her snuffle mat and ball, and going on long forest hikes. And when it’s time to chill, she’s the ultimate blanket snuggler—if there’s a blanket, she’s under it!

“We love Jeannie so much—it was truly a match made in heaven.”

Congrats to Jeannie and her family!
