stuart’s Adoption Story
Stuart on the day he met his new mom
🐭 ADOPTED 🐭 May 18, 2025 —When we rescued now 7yo Stuart he had ophthalmomyiasis – meaning a fly had laid eggs in his eyes!
Rescuer Kim:
“He was found tied in front of the private shelter where LaaLaa my pug came from. Shelter man (owner) called me to get him on 10/6/24.”
Our vet meticulously removed over 30 worms from his eyes, & he recovered.🪱👁️
Stuart boarded a plane in Nov to the US to find his forever home. After half a year, he finally found it w the McNaughtons 💕
His mom Lauren:
“It has been a true joy and blessing to adopt Stuart (aka Stuie or Stu-Beef as we affectionally call him)!
We adopted him in May, right after getting married in April! He joined his pug brother (5yo pug Cosmo) in our 1-bed apt in NYC. We had been quietly researching for months, & frequently stumbled upon Stuart. We wanted to wait until after the wedding before making any decisions. Once we were ready, Stuart was still available — he had been in the U.S. for 6 months but had not received any applications. This, coupled with his sweet little face, pulled on our heartstrings and we just knew it was meant to be. We frequently say we couldn’t dream of a better way to start our married lives together than by welcoming Stuie!
Stuie is a loving and joyful presence in our home! He is a true lap Pug - he loves to be held and is content to sit next to us all day.
He greets us bright and early every morning with lots of kisses and can’t wait to go on his morning walk! Though he’s almost 8, he is energetic. We even took him to an agility class, and he excelled in jumping over hurdles & running through tunnels. Anything for a treat! He loves food and Matt’s family still talks about the time they saw him devour a Pup Cup in a single bite (and the 🍗 he stole off the table & tried to run away with 😂). He’s loyal, loving, and we couldn’t be luckier with our pug family!
We’re so grateful to Pug Rescue of Korea for rescuing him & to everyone who has loved & cared for him along the way, esp his foster parents. We love Stuart so much! Thank you for bringing Stuie into our lives!”
Thank you foster mom @annie_e_willis and special thanks to @thepugfostermom for fostering Stuart for the extended period of time!
