Bosco’s Adoption Story

Bosco on his dad’s lap

🖤ADOPTED🖤 Feb 8, 2024 – The name Bosco means strong and sturdy like a forest, wood, or thicket.” It is an appropriate name for a pug who was abandoned, starving, and hunting for food when he was found.

Here’s Bosco’s (fka Yuri) rescue story:

“He was wandering around the rubbish dumping place searching food with hunger. After a few calls, volunteer @jjack.ddeck.m rescued him in mid-Aug 2024. He had microchip. The owner was an old woman who didn’t want him back.”

Pic #XX: Bosco posted on social network. It says, ‘He is searching for something to eat at the trash place and he’s crying. She gave him food & water. Please someone to make him safe.

Pic #XX: ‘He was found around 3 or 4 am on 14 Aug, close to Kyungwoon Elementary School.’”

His mom, Sarah:

“Bosco’s been doing great! He has been a fun addition w/his loving energy & feistiness. He is very excited about mealtimes, howling for food & tornado-spinning. A snuggler, he gets into bed w/us in the middle of the night every night. He is velcroed entirely against you; if you move, he will move w/you haha. Bosco’s witching hour is at 4pm when he gets zoomies & wants to go out and be fed.

We joke that if he could crawl into our skin, he would, but he would also sell us for a piece of cheese, haha.

He doesn’t bark or lick ppl, which is nice since we already have a compulsive licker in our other dog. He’s not a runner, so if he slips out the door, he hangs out & waits for you to go w/him. He is amazing on car rides. We really got so lucky with him!

Bosco has a lofted pet bed in front of the windows so he can people-watch & sunbathe. He is still working on sharing space w/our other dog, who’s blind. Bosco is terrified of being stepped on by him, so there are lots of warning shots from Bosco that our other dog doesn’t care about, and reroutes haha.

Bosco is very excited about doing basically anything! He’s met our family in Charleston & Virginia & loved everyone. My nephews adore him; he is wonderful w/kids. He’s always goofy & playful. We discovered during his dental cleaning that his age is likely closer to 4 than 6. That was fun to figure out, as it aligns w/his personality more.

We initially wanted to adopt him based on his photo, but when we read his bio, he sounded like the perfect fit for our family. We'd been looking to adopt a pug for a while & were so excited when we saw his profile on the IG post. It just felt like he was meant for us.”

Thank you to Kristin for fostering him in Korea 🩷. Thank you to @mmthepug for fostering him in LA until his new family could pick him up! 🙏

CONGRATS 😍 Bosco, we are so happy for you. You’ve come a long way 🥹
