Mopsy with her forever family

💙ADOPTED❤️ Mar 5, 2025 — Sometimes we rescue a cute girl like 6yo Mopsy and think, "She's so sweet, she'll be adopted instantly!" Then, we come to realize that underneath that adorable pug face is an alpha female who knows what she wants! It's the kind of thing where you know she needs to be the queen of her castle 👑 as an only dog—and you respect that.

Mopsy was a stray in South Korea, rescued on Jan 3, 2025. She was found wandering near apartments and was in perfect health, ready for her new life. On Feb 19, she flew to the US, and today, we're celebrating her forever home!

From her mom, Eden:

“I had been following PRK on IG for a few months, and seeing photos and videos of happy pugs finding their forever homes always makes my day. I first saw an initial post in early Feb about Mopsy when PRK first rescued her. It was love at first sight, especially when I saw in the description that she is alpha, dominant, cuddly, and loves her human! I thought Mopsy seemed like the perfect solo pug, and I was sure many people would be lining up to adopt her. Our 17-year-old rescue pug, Meiling, had recently passed away, and we were worried it was too soon to open our hearts to another.

About a week later, PRK posted, urgently asking again for a foster family for Mopsy. She was flying into San Francisco in a couple of weeks, and she needed to go to a home with no other dogs. This time, I couldn't scroll away - it was an unusual and unique coincidence that we happened to be a pug-experienced household currently with no dogs. So, we applied to foster Mopsy, and I booked a last-minute plane ticket from NYC to SF to pick her up and bring her home.

Once my wife met Mopsy, we both knew Mopsy would be here to stay forever. 🤗

She is very spunky and a true velcro pug. She'll follow us around the house, always close by. (Since we adopted her, Mopsy's separation anxiety has faded away entirely, and she will happily snooze away when I leave the house to run errands, with no drama!) When I'm sleeping, Mopsy is always sandwiched in between my legs under the covers. When my wife is cooking in the kitchen, she waits patiently for a snack.”

“When we're watching TV on the sofa, she rests on my chest or nuzzles us gently. When we play fetch, she doesn't quite understand sometimes that she's supposed to bring it back, but she will still try to play! Mopsy doesn't usually enjoy being pet, and she very, very rarely gives kisses (only when you've been away for a while and she REALLY missed you!), but we know her love language is just her velcro self.

Mopsy knows she runs our household. If you set a 6:00 a.m. alarm because you want to wake up early, Mopsy is your accountability coach who won't let you hit the snooze button. She'll perch herself on your chest and step all over you until you wake up and feed her breakfast! Our previous pug was not a morning dog at all, and since we are both night owls, this has been quite a hilarious adjustment for us.

Mopsy has brought joy, laughter, new inside jokes, and a very different puggy energy into our lives that has been greatly needed this year. Thank you to PRK for all that you do to bring families together!”

Throw your paws up for this happy family! 🙌
