chai’s Adoption Story
Chai with his new mom
💙ADOPTED❤️ Jan 26, 2025 – Despite a challenging start, Chai’s journey to his forever family was a testament to patience and care.
Rescued in July 2024 from a nursing home in Busan, South Korea, Chai and his sister, Coco (adopted), were neglected for a long time. Skin fungus, luxating patella, elongated soft palate, ear infection, and abscess near the ear canal.
Chai, a 2-year-old pug, arrived in NYC from Korea on November 21, 2024. His dedicated foster mom, @rosiezook (Rose), traveled from Pennsylvania to JFK to pick him up. Rose was incredibly attentive, providing excellent care for Chai as he recovered from an ear infection and an abscess.
We found his best home with Joette and her family in the beautiful state of Maine.
“I lost my last Pug in December of 2023, and I just missed that pug personality so much! I heard about Pug Rescue of Korea through social media and fell in love with Chai the first time I saw his picture. He has been such a great addition to the household. He joined two cats, Ronald and Tubby (aka Minou), and two dogs, Wilbur and Boots. They all got along wonderfully right from the beginning.
“Chai is sweet, cuddly, funny, feisty, and a little naughty, all the usual pug traits! He is not a big fan of cold and snow, but now that it’s nice, he loves the big fenced-in yard. He loves going on walks and gets so excited when we get the leashes out. We just love him so much and are thankful for Pug Rescue of Korea and for his foster family.”
Thank you to Rose and @lauralyndsen for fostering Chai! Laura recently asked how he was doing and shared, “He was so sweet. He used to lay down on my belly to sleep when I was pregnant. I miss his energy.” 💕
All the love and happiness to Chai – no longer neglected!
