Red’s Adoption Story
Red with his new family
💙ADOPTED❤️ It was a long 7 months, but it was well worth the wait. In Dec, now 6yo Red (fka GReddy) finally found his forever home with Jessica & Kevin 🤗 @jesschild10
Red, who we believe had already been in multiple homes, was surrendered in Korea in mid-Apr 2024 by a young couple who showed him no affection and gave no reason for giving him up.
He boarded a plane and arrived in Los Angeles a few weeks later but spent several months battling a series of serious health issues before finding his forever home. His journey included emergency GI obstruction surgery, pancreatitis, the removal of a benign growth on his spleen, and persistent digestive issues. Throughout this challenging time, his dedicated foster mom, @leahpugs, provided unwavering care, meticulously nursing him through his recovery, managing countless vet appointments, adhering to a strict post-surgery diet, & ensuring his comfort during the critical post-operative period.
We promoted his adoption availability, but we were puzzled as to why he went unnoticed with no applications. Not to despair, bc Jessica applied!
In her words:
“We can’t believe Red has only been with us since December—it truly feels like he’s been part of our family forever. From the moment we brought him home, he fit in seamlessly. Red is the most cuddly, sweet, & loyal little guy. He’s become the perfect addition to our lives.
Kevin works from home, which Red absolutely loves—he’s rarely alone and always has a lap to curl up on (his favorite place). His daily routine includes breakfast, a walk around the neighborhood, and then a long, cozy nap until lunchtime. He takes his work-from-home duties very seriously and never misses a Zoom call (especially if it involves cuddles).
Red has a few favorite things in life: sunbathing, air licking (a true art form), his toy lamb, & zoomies around the house. Now that the weather’s warmed up in Massachusetts, he’s thrilled—he was not a fan of the snow!
I still remember seeing his post on IG and being shocked that he hadn’t received any applications. The second I saw his sweet face, I just knew he was meant to be ours. I grew up with rescue dogs and always knew I wanted to adopt—it’s incredible how much love & companionship they give, especially after all they’ve been through.
We’re forever grateful to Pug Rescue of Korea for bringing Red into our lives. Thank you for saving him and giving us the chance to love him. We truly can’t imagine life without him. ❤️”
Thank you also to Kelly Perlangeli, who transported him from LA to the East Coast to his forever family ❤️
