Lilac’s Adoption Story
Lilac with her new mom
💜ADOPTED💜Oct 17, 2024 — And we have another pug on the East Coast: Lilac! Surrendered in Korea due to a dog allergy, we rescued Lilac on Jun 1, 2024.
Like many pugs, Lilac needed surgery for an elongated soft palate, a common condition that can make breathing difficult. She also had bladder stones that also required operation.
As the Korean autumn leaves 🍂began to turn and after weeks of recovery & rehab, Lilac was ready to fly! A long flight across the Pacific brought her to the US, where her new mom, Sarah, awaited.
“I had been wanting to adopt a pug and had been following pug rescues on Instagram. I was so happy to find Pug Rescue of Korea as I had lived and worked in Korea for several years. With Lilac, it was love at first sight.
Lilac is a sweet & curious girl. From day 1, she settled in quickly. People are surprised to hear we’re still in our 1st year together. She has made herself at home and has successfully trained me on the importance of timely meals & snacks.
She loves people & is quick to introduce herself. She has made friends at local pet-friendly businesses, making the rounds on her walks to say hello. She loves to take long walks to visit the art museum grounds & meet new people.
Though a sweet girl, Lilac has a bit of spice. She is independent & confident. She walks into a room as though she owns it. She loves to chew on her harness & leash when we get ready to go out. One of my favorite quirks is that she twirls whenever she’s excited. It’s so cute.
Lilac is a bundle of joy who shares that joy w/all she meets.”
Congrats to Lilac and Sarah! 🥰🤗
