coco’s Adoption Story
Coco with her new dad, en route to her new home
💙ADOPTED ❤️ Dec 26, 2024– We rescued Coco (and Chai) from a pet nursing home in Busan in July 2024. Pet nursing homes market themselves as safe places where pet owners can pay to surrender their pets and be assured their pets will be well cared for. However, this isn’t always the case as they’re often neglected. Although Coco and Chai were surrendered by the same owner (who had divorced and surrendered them), they did not get along. Coco had a skin fungus and required eyedrops.
After some TLC, she flew to LA in Nov 2024. Unfortunately, right before she was to go to her forever home with the Diettes in Missouri, she developed some GI issues that had to be treated first. Foster mom susan was very attentive, patient, and caring as she made multiple trips to the vet and nursed Coco through her illness (and I believe cancelled her Christmas plans to care for her). Her future, Will, was understanding, changing his flight from Missouri to LA at the last minute as Coco was not well enough to fly yet.
Now 7yo, “she is loving life and doing great! She did have a low grade mast cell in her chin, but we noticed it early and got it removed the following week. The doc got great margins but we still decided to do oral chemo just in case. You couldn’t tell anything even happened, Coco is resilient! Coco also had an accident where a neighbor dog scratched her across the face and it popped her eye out. We were able to save the eye, but she is now a little cross eyed 😁 the poor girl has been through so much, but she’s the best.”
Thank you to @snow_nr for and Susan @susiesdeals for fostering Coco in Korea and the US (respectively). 🙏😍
Congratulations to the Diettes and Coco. Coco truly found her perfect home 💖
