Hi! I’m Sur!

Sur is gentle but has bursts of energy throughout the day. He gets along well w our cat & enjoys snuggling & playing, depending on the activity level in the house.

He is a people-pleaser. He knows the commands: sit, lay down, & spin. He has learned to sit and wait for elevators and enter a house. We are working on the stay command and consistent training; he is progressing well.

He is a ton of fun! He is still learning how to walk on a leash. He will lunge at cars when walking, which we are working on. He enjoys play-biting people’s hands. Although it is gentle, we are working on discouraging this type of play. He can also be wary of going up flights of stairs, but he is excellent going down them once he gets over his initial caution.

He is potty trained. An indoor pup, he is successful when walked after each meal.

He is not a fan of the crate but is not anxious. He does not like to be crated overnight and prefers to sleep in a human bed with humans. We crate him when no one is around because he will find cat toys & chew them up. We left him in a crate for 4 hours, and when we returned, he was sleeping soundly.

Not alpha. He is very excited mtg other dogs & is super playful. We’ve only witnessed positive interactions between him & other dogs.

He is good with older kids. Rocco enjoys being with our teenager. He jumps up on the couch & beds with little regard for who may already be sitting there. He wants to be on your lap and will step on you to get cozy. Additionally, play biting might deter families with young children from adopting him.

He likes to pick up things & chew on them, especially during walks. If it's on the ground, he will find it. He has an affinity for trying to chew on small metal objects, such as zippers. Cat toys with bells are his favorite thing to destroy.

He loves our gentle cat; they play together, chasing and wrestling all day. A dog or gentle cat playmate would benefit his quality of life.

The best home scenario for Rocco is one with another pet to keep him company. Rocco loves playing outside & dog parks. He would flourish with someone who is home for a large portion of the day & can have plenty of snuggle time between periods of active play. He is an absolute snugglebug & will follow you all day to be close to you.
