ralphie’s Rescue Story
After several residents reported Ralphie wandering around as a stray, he arrived at the shelter on July 14, 2026 with a critical eye injury. His eyeball was dangerously protruding from his eye socket. The shelter vet performed emergency surgery, pushing the eyeball back in, then suturing it – obviously a temporary solution.
His hold date was up on July 24, but, after daily pestering, we pulled some strings to get him out a couple days earlier.
Health Considerations
We removed his left eye (eye enucleation) shortly after rescue and he recovered swimmingly. We also repaired his hernia.
*Adoption fee covers vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, all medical care, and transportation from Korea to the West Coast. If flown from Korea to the East Coast, add $200 to his base adoption fee. For more information on the adoption process and fee, visit how to adopt.
