I’M AVAILABLE!
Hi! I’m mookie!

Meet Mookie!
Cute, small, and sweet with a big personality. He’s high-energy. He loves to give kisses and to lay on his human.
He plays fetch! (Not keep away like many pugs, ha.)
Politely sits for the doorman when offered treats. Knows how to shake paws too.
Very observant with a good memory.
He’s pee pad-trained (will have accidents in a new home) and marks on occasion inside. He is making progress going potty outdoors.
He has some anxiety, but it seems to improve with a consistent routine.
He barks sometimes before mealtime and on walks, when passing people. He gets excited when he sees other dogs and people and can lunge and bark; however, this isn’t aggressive. It’s driven by excitement, and he can be trained as he is a FAST learner.
He is an escape artist. He’s tall, athletic, and a high jumper!
He wants to be alpha. He can be good with other dogs, but needs training or time to get along better with them.
Good around kids in the building.
He does not chew things he’s not supposed to.
He has no problem being home alone for several hours.
The ideal home scenario is one where he receives a lot of attention. He would be a great fit as an only dog in an adventurous household or with a family or a couple.
Lastly, his foster dad says, even though his name is Mookie, he is a “huge Cubs fan.” But we think Mookie will like whatever baseball team his new adoptive family likes 😊

Health Considerations
Mookie’s skin and fur are recovering from neglect. His fur is thin and his skin on the pinker side, but they are improving with a balanced diet and good nutrition.
mookie’s Rescue Story
Mookie was left at a privately-owned shelter for 3 years. It was a private shelter in a rural, mountaineous area without running water. We rescued him from that shelter on July 20, 2025. He then flew to the US from Korea on Aug 20.
*Adoption fee covers vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, all medical care, and transportation from Korea to the US. For more information on the adoption process and fee, visit how to adopt.
