I’M AVAILABLE!

Hi! I’m LADY BIRD!

Meet LADY BIRD!

  • Lady Bird is a sweet, playful, and social puppy who loves being around people, children, and other dogs. She would make a wonderful companion. With her tiny size, small head, and adorable big eyes, she’s a little pug full of affection, easygoing, and happy to be included in her human’s daily life. Curious, loves to explore

  • Very teachable. Social. Sweet and affectionate. She doesn’t bark (she makes cute dolphin-like noises instead!)  Easy to take around places - Brought her to a cafe for 2 hours, and she was so calm and quiet. Confident lady. She’s up for anything. No fuss when brushing her teeth, cleaning her folds and ears, and washing her paws.

  • Trained her to “Leave it,” which I use when we go on walks, and she’s great at listening. She is still in reinforcing mode. During walks, she is curious about things on the ground. After practicing walking outside on a short leash and rewarding her for “Leave it,” she has improved a lot in not picking things up from the ground. She loves to look for food around the house, but she doesn't jump up on the chair to reach the dinner table.

  • Potty training: Very good on the training pads (sometimes misses ever so slightly, urinating around the border of the pads). She urinates frequently (i.e., I take her outside, she peed, but when we get home, 10- 15 minutes later, she pees again). Got accustomed to grass and recently learned to go on the grass.

Haven’t used a crate. She recently learned to take afternoon naps on her dog bed. At night, she sleeps on the human bed.

  • She picks one human and follows them around the house. She whimpers when she doesn't see her human but doesn't bark.

  • She’s not alpha or dominant. She has puppy energy, and I can see how some dogs may not want to engage with that.

  • She’d do fine as an only dog or with other dogs. Other dog owners have commented on how friendly she is with other dogs. She likes to play with my senior dog, but sometimes the senior dog tells her he doesn’t want to bc she can be energetic.

  • The best home scenario: A calm, affectionate home with a present owner and predictable routines. She’ll thrive with someone who enjoys companionship, including their dog in daily life, and appreciates a loving shadow who wants to be near- but not frantic or needy.

Health Considerations

When Lady Bird first arrived in the US, she was experiencing allergy symptoms (reverse sneezing) due to the environmental change. Korea’s allergen environment is more pollution-based than plant-based. Southern California has more dust mites, tree, grass and weed pollens. Lady Bird went from an irritant heavy environment to an allergen heavy one, so it can take a little time to adjust to this environmental allergen change.

Her foster mom has been giving her Adored Beast Potent Sea Oil and Fido's Flora (probiotics), which have helped calm her reaction and she has not reverse sneezed since.
