I’M AVAILABLE!

Hi! I’m IRIS!

Meet IRIS!

  • Iris is a medium-to-highly active pug. She loves to play, and sometimes her playfulness is a little rough, but absolutely no malicious intent. Just big puppy spirit!

  • Iris likes to rub her face onto my back when I'm sitting on the couch or on the floor. She also makes these cute little grunt noises when she knows it's feeding time! And when Iris is in her calm mode, she loves to lie by your feet and put her head on your feet.

  • Iris is food/treat motivated. She doesn't listen to English commands too well, but she knows trick commands in Korean! She knows how to sit, lay down, and give her paw.

  • Iris is 100% potty-trained on pee pads. Occasionally, she will miss the pad circling too much, but as long as she knows where the pad is, that's where she will go!

  • Unsure if she’s crate-trained; I don't have a crate I put my dogs in. They have their own private room where they sleep, or when I step out of the house, they relax in.

  • Iris displays no sign of anxiety, but if there is a sudden loud noise in the house, she will hide in my daughter's tent. She comes out shortly and bounces back to her normal self. She sometimes plays rough; for example, she will nibble when too excited. She's not doing it maliciously, but like a puppy, and sometimes it can be a little aggressive. She gets in this mode when you're petting her, especially on her head and backside. She would benefit from training in this area.

  • Iris barks, but very faintly, only when she hears a noise or a knock at the door. But otherwise very quiet.

  • Iris is neither a dominant nor an alpha dog. She's a sweetheart.

  • Absolutely great w/other dogs! I have 2 pugs and a chihuahua, and there have been no issues with them. I feed Iris separately because she likes to steal the other dogs’ food, but she shows no signs of food aggression. I have a 5lb gallon automatic water dispenser, and all the dogs drink together out of it. No issue at all.

  • Iris is amazing with kids. She prefers to stay out of their way but does well in the same area. (I have a 2-year-old, and sometimes Iris doesn't want to play with her, so she just steers clear.) No aggression.

  • Iris likes to chew shoes, but I've only seen her do it maybe two or three times since she's been with me. I've tried replacing them with toys, but Iris shows little to no interest in toys at this moment.

  • Iris would do great in a home with either dogs or alone.

  • There is always someone at home, and she's surrounded by other animals. If I had to guess, Iris would do fine at home alone. She doesn't seem to show any attachment issues.

  • Iris loves to stay indoors. Even though she goes outside with my other pets to use the restroom, she prefers to use the pee pad indoors. But, Iris is very adaptable, so any condition home would be applicable for her.

  • Adopting Iris would be more than adopting a pet; it would be gaining a new family member! She is just the sweetest pup ever. She deserves a loving family. She's a true diamond in the rough.

iris’ Rescue Story

We rescued Monk from a for-profit, no-kill animal facility in Korea on February 13, 2026.

Health Considerations

Like some pugs, Iris’ flat face and nose cause her to wheeze when she’s trying to catch her breath after actively playing and overstimulated.

*Adoption fee covers vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, all medical care, and transportation from Korea to the US. For more information on the adoption process and fee, visit how to adopt.
