Hi! I’m Chichi!

I’M AVAILABLE!

Meet chichi!

  • ChiChi's life before PRK was very sad, and the years of neglect have taken a toll on him; however, every day, he is learning more about what it means to be a dog again and is a totally different pug than when he arrived in the US.

  • ChiChi gets the zoomies and loves walks and car rides. He is skittish but is getting better with me and meeting new people.

  • Initially shy, ChiChi continues coming out of his shell; he likes to play tug and zoom around the house.

  • He loves his person and follows them everywhere. We are working on trust, as his instinct is still to run when he thinks you are going to pick him up or take him somewhere he is not sure about.

  • I love ChiChi's bravery and adaptability and watching him let his guard down and be loved and love back. He has a silly side, and nothing is better than seeing him be the sweet, goofy boy he is. He LOVES belly rubs - almost as much as treats ;) He'd let you give belly scratches for hours.

  • ChiChi is a sweet soul. He had a rough life, and it is so wonderful that he has a chance for a fresh start in a home with lots of love. He has made so much progress, and his sweet nature is only starting to emerge. ChiChi will be a wonderful companion and love his person to no end. He's loyal and is so appreciative of all kindness and love shown to him.

  • Not potty trained or crate trained

  • He does not bark excessively.

  • He’s not alpha, but he shows food aggression and some resource guarding with toys. We are working to improve this, but progress is slow. He wants to eat everything and when he sees something as his, he does not want it taken away by another dog.

  • He is good with other dogs/

  • ChiChi has been around teens and has done well with them

  • He chews things when he is not taken out regularly out of boredom - he enjoys chewing on paper goods.

  • ChiChi can thrive either as an only dog or with other dogs; however, he has gotten along well with my pug, Archie. Archie has helped show ChiChi that humans can be good and has moved him to trust me.

  • He would be OK left home alone for several hours

  • ChiChi would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and willing to help ChiChi learn to trust humans. He will need a lot of love and affirmation to help him continue coming out of his shell and trusting people. Having another dog who can help guide him would be wonderful.
