I’M PENDING ADOPTION!
Hi! I’m autumn!
Meet AUTUMN!
Autumn is sweet, loving, cuddly, takes many naps, gets very excited about food, and enjoys playing with us.
She has so much energy and excitement; it has been so much fun to watch her learn new things, be introduced to toys (hasn’t gotten the hang of toys yet), and routines.
Autumn loves to climb into my lap and snuggle, no matter where— on the couch, desk, or floor—she is not far behind. Autumn jumps on my back anytime she has the opportunity, like if I bend over to get something off the ground.
A fast learner, she knows sit and paw, her meal times, and reminds me at least 30 minutes prior that she’s ready to eat.
Autumn has a funny run, frequently falls asleep on the edge of the couch, and almost falls off. She hilariously jumps using all 4 legs. Her favorite toy is our hands.
Potty trained? Getting better, she is learning to hold her pees and is on a schedule of three walks a day, though sometimes she still has mini pees on soft spots like a rug/runner.
Autumn goes into the crate between eating and walking, and sleeps in it to help her adjust to her new environment. She loves this space, and occasionally, during the day, we find her sleeping in there willingly.
It seems Autumn is skeptical of men. She has been slower to warm up to my husband and regularly barks at men when we walk by. She is not aggressive and is starting to trust, but it has taken her longer to warm up.
Overall, it seems she is a little hesitant to trust, and that trust can be broken quickly. For example, one of our blankets was particularly staticky and shocked Autumn lightly; now she is hesitant to climb on the couch if that blanket is there. She was also quick to react to my husband, preventing her from eating Daisy's food one day; she showed a bit of aggression but calmed down afterward.
Autumn barks at most sounds that take her by surprise, but she has a rather quiet bark.
Autumn has not displayed any alpha behavior with Daisy, our pug. She’s been great with Daisy; they hardly interact and mostly just coexist. She is not reactive to dogs on walks and has greeted some dogs with positive sniffs
Autumn has been around kids ages 2 to 10 and has done great. She is a bit nervous to meet new people, but once she warms up, she is playful and loving.
The best home scenario for Autumn is with someone kind, patient, and willing to love her unconditionally. She has some quirks and an unknown history, but it’s clear she yearns for safety and security. Someone who works from home and could spend extended time with her would be great. She makes a great coworker (she frequently sleeps on the job). She can be in a home as an only dog or with dog siblings.

Health Considerations
Since she arrived in NYC, she’s been a bit itchy so her foster family is changing her food to see if that helps. It could be due to the environment change (from Korea to NYC).
Otherwise, she is healthy.
AUTUMN’S Rescue Story
Autumn was rescued from the shelter, and her listing didn’t indicate whether she was male or female ('성별미상'). She was so timid when volunteer Jackson’s mom freed her. At the shelter, she was so timid and fearful that she did not allow the shelter staff to touch her and she just rolled herself into a corner. She was chipped but her owner did not want her back.
*Adoption fee covers vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, all medical care, and transportation from Korea to the US. For more information on the adoption process and fee, visit how to adopt.
